The Three Daggers microbrewery was established in 2013 to complement the historic Three Daggers pub and onsite farm shop, and brews just 8-10 firkins at a time. As well as supplying both pub and shop, it sells beer wholesale to pubs in the South West and in London. Brewing takes places within the farm shop, providing added interest to visitors and encouraging them to take away bottles, flagons or even casks for a special occasion! Three Daggers recently won two awards at the SIBA South West Independent Beer Awards.
To show off its craft beers to best effect and in line with its minimalist branding style, the Three Daggers team decided on labels with a transparent background for the front of its bottles. They wanted the bottles to look almost as if the branding had been printed directly onto them. A more traditional label style was chosen for the back of the bottle with details of alcohol content etc.
The company’s designer created the branding, but the challenge was to find a printer who could produce the labels cost effectively in the small quantities required.
He then discovered Integrity Print, a long-established printers which offers a specialist label design and print service called Ready Willing and Label to artisan food and drink manufacturers. Working closely with Integrity he was able to combine a transparent label and the exact colour of the Daggers Best logo.
Integrity were really helpful and made the process very straightforward,” Chris explained. “It was a challenge to match the colour we wanted, but they worked closely with us to get the exact match, and also helped us with the font size so we could fit in all the necessary information on the label for the back of the bottle. We were delighted with the results, and the bottles look really smart on the shelves.
For companies who want a small print run and a printer who will take the time to understand their needs and help them at every stage, Integrity are definitely a company they should speak to
